Natural Family Photos // Boating with the Carroll Family
Late last summer, Delaney and I spent a perfect Michigan evening with the Carroll family. Pizza and boating - my kinda night! The plan was to have their family photo session on their boat, which I was stoked about. Additionally, the night ended with wake boarding, which is basically my dream way to end any summer evening!
Besides all the fun we had with the Carrolls, the thing that stood out most to me from these photos was that they were all being themselves in front of the camera. We did take some “traditional” group photos, but everyone was already loosened up so there was no room for stiffness!
Doing what they love to do together as a family, boating, and having it documented, created natural-looking family photos. The meaning of “natural” means something different to each and every family or person, but the concept remains: if you are wanting more from your photos, invite your photographer into the real moments of your life.
Have a bonfire in the backyard, head out on your family’s favorite hiking trail, grab drinks together at your favorite local spot - be yourselves!
